Introduction to Inner Peace

Jonathan Liverpool

Peace is the whole point of this system. Every other section of this system will help you find a certain level of peace, but this section in particular is built to help you keep it. We can't always be meditating or creating from our heart center if we're being realistic. Most of us have jobs, kids, and other responsibilities to tend to. Oftentimes, as soon as these responsibilities come up, we go right back to square one. So how do we keep the results that we work so hard to build?

The truth is, there will always be people and situations that compromise your peace. Sometimes, you'll remain strong, and other times you'll falter. At the end of the day, we're imperfect beings that will inevitably make mistakes, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't continue to strive to be the best version of ourselves. There's a saying one of my teachers says quite often, "If you want peace, you have to prepare for war", and that is what this section is all about. My goal is to arm you with the weapons and tools to not only enter a state of peace, but to maintain and defend it. You'll notice that as you continue to use these tools, you'll be able to enter the state of peace easier, it will last longer, and eventually, this will become your normal state of mind and not something you have to try maintain.

Inner peace is something that is severely overlooked in western culture. Ironically, all of the vices our culture indulges in are forms of escapism that replace the peace we subconsciously desire. Consumerism, drugs, overindulgence etc. are all ways to temporarily relieve the pressures of the world, but nothing external can replace the stability and permanence of true inner peace. Even when the world gets the best of us, the peace doesn't necessarily dissappear, we just forget that it exists. But its always there, waiting for your return.
